The Bastia FabLab was born in 2018, however the OPRA association, the FabLab’s hosting structure, was created in 2007 as a Digital Public Space (EPN).
It is a digital manufacturing space, where we find digitally controlled tools such as 3D printers, vinyl cutting plotters, and even digital milling machines.
The objective of the Bastia FabLab is to reduce the digital divide in the territories through awareness and education. For this, the FabLab offers workshops for children twice a week, which combine computer and scientific workshops and introductions to certain software.
The Bastia FabLab then receives a school audience, an audience from priority neighborhoods, particularly due to its location. In addition, there are also a few craftsmen who come through the FabLab door to create communication objects.
